What is there to see and do in the area?The Lee, Glasgow, can be found just off the M8 motorway next to Glasgow Cathedral, one of Scotland's architectural treasures. The only building to survive the reformation of 1560 intact. Next to the cathedral is the Provand's Lordship - the oldest house in Glasgow which dates back to 1471. Glasgow's finest example of 19th century architectural excellence has to be the Glasgow City Chambers where free tours are available every day from 10.30am.Afterwards, enjoy a fresh coffee or a bit of lunch at the Lee before continuing the sightseeing! If shopping is your thing, then Glasgow City Centre won't disappoint with great shopping centres including Princes Square and Buchanan Galleries. Again, just a 10 minute stroll from the Lee. For a true taste of culture in the city centre, visit the Gallery of Modern Art houses four floors of contemporary painting, sculpture and installations from around the world along with a series of outstanding temporary exhibits. Glasgow Green and the magnificent People's Palace, full of Glasgow and Scottish modern history are also only a 15 minute walk away.
